Adzooma’s Fantastic Voyage to Google HQ

TL;DR

  • As recent Google Premier Partners, Adzooma headed to London to check out the Google office.
  • We’re really excited about the possibilities of this partnership.
  • It will bring a lot of opportunities and enable us to offer our customers more.

One of the perks of being a Google Premier Partner is to collaborate with the Google team on a regular basis, and we were invited to the office of the search engine giant to meet with key members of their team, where we were treated to a tour of the colossal office space located in the heart of London.

But first, sites needed seeing. We headed over to the wharf to climb aboard the Thames Rib Experience and jetted past the Tower of London, London Bridge, rich yachts and much more. From there, we were trusted with navigating a flight simulator that saw us landing jumbo jets at the fantastic Aviation Experience.

Google’s offices are as spectacular as you can imagine. While waiting in reception for our VIP tour to begin, we gawked at the post-it note creations of iconic computer games that adorned the glass windows all the way up to the top floor.

The next thing to catch our eye was the glass-encased prototype of Google’s new flagship ‘horizontal skyscraper’ that is currently under construction. London’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, helped to break ground on the site that will eventually shelter 7,000 Google employees. To give you a scope of the project, the headquarters will be as long as The Shard building is high.

Within the 12 floors of office space sits several different Alphabet teams that are engineering the latest in search engine marketing. We were also quite envious of the numerous cafes and cafeteria’s that nourish the body and mind of many of Google’s best minds.

Mirroring the cool, urban feel of Google’s office in the Silicon Valley, there are plenty of references to British culture throughout the building, like typical red phone booths around every corner, street signs, Union Jacks galore and a very cool homage to David Bowie and his music throughout.  There is a YouTube-themed bus which doubles as a meeting space, and there are little sound-proofed hot desks everywhere you look.

Aside from the next-level setting of the existing office, important work is being done to ensure that searchers are served up the most relevant results to their queries, and that includes the work done by the Adzooma team.

Thomas Hampson, Director at Adzooma, is delighted with the progress that the company is making. He added: “To celebrate becoming a Google Premier Partner and what was another great quarter for the growth of the business, we wanted to reward the team for their continued hard work and dedication. This event in London was a fantastic day that was enjoyed by everyone in the team, and it’s still the talk of the office some weeks later. I’d like to thank our partners at Google for hosting us at their fabulous Kings Cross office and for the VIP tour. Google is a key partner for us and we look forward to continuing to work closely together to deliver great results for our customers.”
